I’ve always been a fan of JMC I even own a signed poster by him when I met him at a bike show years ago, it says "To Ashley stay fast Jason McRoy" I always remember the day when I found out about his death, I was working in my local bike shop when a friend came round to tell me the news, I then bought the newspaper which was carrying the story.
Imagine my surprise and shock when I inadvertently, through no planning of mine, too much traffic on other roads and no idea where I really was, drove through Woodhead Pass and saw the shrine. The weird coincidence was I had just started a new job returning to the bike industry and was driving around there so far away from Kent where I live, because of this new job, I found this amazingly strange.
